akh was too generous. this isn't just a bad writing site, it's terrible. it seems more like a forum for PA authors to chat without PA's watchful eye on them.
The moderation is terrible, there are just whole threads attacking people who question PA.
The first poster here, shelag, runs the place. maybe she'll read this and make the changes needed for the site to improve. it certainly can't get any worse.

This is a site dominated by PublishAmerica authors who do not believe their "publisher" is a scam vanity press. Any attempts to even politely bring the matter up results in the ganging up on,and verbal abuse of the poster.
The administrator seems unwilling to moderate personal attacks or keep threads on topic.
In other words, if you want to talk about writing, and the craft of writing, there are far better places to do so, namely Absolute Write forums and Writer's Beat.
